Email to SMS - Outlook Integration

Overview

Your SMS Central account can be easily integrated with Microsoft Outlook. There is no software installation required and the configuration only takes a minute.

Outlook integration offers a variety of other features such as:

  • Send SMS to Outlook contacts
  • Manage SMS messages just like emails – Save drafts, Sent items, Print
  • Push calendar reminders via SMS
  • Forward emails via SMS
  • Use Outlook speller and proofreading tools
  • Cut and paste text from other applications
  • Full support for groups and distribution lists
  • Schedule messages for later delivery (2007 only)
  • Auto redirect for important messages, reminders and next day calendar summary

Note: Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service is only available in Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2010 versions.

 

Step 1: Go to Account Settings

Office 2007: Go to Tools > Account Settings.

 

Office 2010: Go to File > Info, click on Account Settings and in the pop up box, click Account Settings.

 

Step 2: Create a New Email Service

Office 2007: Under the Email tab, click New. Then click Other and select Outlook Mobile Service (Text Messaging).

 

Office 2010: Under the Email tab, click New, then select Text Messaging (SMS)

 

Step 3: Enter Your Details

Office 2007: Under Server Information enter the following details:

Web Service Address: https://my.smscentral.com.au/outlook 

User ID: Your SMS Central username

Password: Your SMS Central Password

Optional: if you click on More Settings, you can then specify your own mobile phone number as the originator (the number the message will appear to be sent from).

 

Office 2010: Under Step 2: Fill in Account Information enter the following details:

Service Provider URL: https://my.smscentral.com.au/outlook 

User ID: Your SMS Central username

Password: Your SMS Central Password

Optional: if you click More Settings, underOutlook Mobile Service Information and Settings, you can specify your own mobile phone number as the originator (the number the message will appear to be sent from).
